Loads of Fun

I hate NASCAR. I picked this book up in High School and took it along on some choir tour or the like. Laughed my butt off. This novel is remarkably like Semi-Tough by Dan Jenkins. The book is written in the first person, and sounded to me like an insider's look at the exercise (won't call it a sport). It's certainly as close to car racing as I want to be. I keep checking back to see if it's in reprint or if some fool has a readable edition for 5 bucks. So far no luck. Try your library and steal it and send it to me. NO NO NO not really, BUY it for me at a Library Sale, yeah, that's it.

This is the funniest book I ever read!

Even if you are not into NASCAR, this book is a hilarious look at the "pioneer" days of stock car racing. It was made into an incredibly lame, Burt Reynolds/Lonnie Anderson vehicle movie that was a major insult to the book. If a real movie of this story were ever made, it would be a box office smash!
